Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to support the operations of a corporate cafeteria for a part-time assignment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch items, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and organized throughout the shift. This role is ideal for someone who works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering quality meals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch items according to established menus and recipes.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to a high standard.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, workstations, equipment, and food preparation areas.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Assist with food preparation, ingredient storage, inventory organization, and kitchen cleanup.
- Monitor food quality and ensure proper handling, storage, and temperature control.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook in a cafeteria, restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen.
- Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Food Handler Certificate is considered an asset.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and moving kitchen supplies.
