Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in chemistry and related subjects such as math, computer science, or special education as needed.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and inquiry.
- Incorporate technology and computer skills into lessons to enhance understanding and engagement.
- Adapt teaching methods for students with diverse learning styles and needs, including those requiring special education accommodations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance data.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student development and address individual learning challenges.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices in science instruction.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting is highly preferred.
- Experience tutoring or teaching chemistry at the high school or middle school level is desirable.
- Background in teaching math or computer science can be an asset for interdisciplinary instruction.
- Classroom experience demonstrating effective classroom management and instructional strategies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with special education practices and accommodations is a plus.
- Strong computer skills for integrating digital tools into lessons are beneficial.
