Mechanical QA/QC Inspector – Camp Rotation
SPI Inspections Inc. is hiring one Mechanical QA/QC Inspector for a rotation-based industrial project in British Columbia.
This is a full-time, in-person field inspection and documentation role supporting mechanical construction, quality verification, turnover, and project coordination.
Workers mobilize through the Bridgemans Marine Terminal on Sea Island in Richmond, BC for transport to the project site.

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical QA/QC Inspector with experience in mechanical construction, piping, equipment installation, turnover, completions, or industrial quality control.
This role involves inspecting mechanical work, verifying quality requirements, documenting deficiencies, supporting turnover activities, and coordinating with construction and project teams.
The position is not a heavy labour role, but candidates must be comfortable working in an active industrial construction environment.
Compensation and Schedule
- Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour
- Job Type: Full-time
- Schedule: 14 days on / 13 days off
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts
- Expected Hours: 40–84 hours per week
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable employment standards and project requirements
- Camp: Camp accommodations provided for eligible rotation work

Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical inspection and QA/QC verification on industrial construction work
- Review mechanical installations against project specifications, drawings, codes, and quality requirements
- Inspect piping, valves, supports, mechanical equipment, and related systems
- Support inspection activities for pressure testing, hydrotesting, leak testing, flushing, cleaning, and mechanical completion
- Review and complete inspection records, checklists, quality documents, and turnover records
- Identify deficiencies, document findings, and support corrective actions
- Assist with walkdowns, punch lists, turnover packages, and mechanical completion activities
- Coordinate with construction, quality, engineering, and project teams
- Maintain accurate digital records and reporting
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, project personnel, and client representatives
Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical inspection, mechanical QA/QC, mechanical construction, or industrial quality control
- Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems, piping, equipment, and construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and technical documents
- Experience with ITPs, ITRs, NCRs, deficiency lists, punch lists, or turnover packages is an asset
- Experience in LNG, oil and gas, pipeline, power generation, mining, petrochemical, or major industrial projects is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document work clearly
- Comfortable using a computer for reporting, documentation, and project communication
- Able to work in a camp / rotation-based project environment
- Able to comply with project safety, site access, and drug and alcohol testing requirements
