Description
Are you an Industrial packaging Mechanic or Millwright looking for a part-time, permanent position.
Are you seeking a position within the steel and paint industry.
Currently, we have availability for a part time and full-time contract position available.
- The Mechanic/Millwright will be doing the following duties:
- Setup, changeover, repair, and maintain the packaging equipment
- Routine maintenance of production and auxiliary equipment
- Calibrate and check instruments
- Use other machine shop equipment such as grinders, drills, and milling machine
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor system issues.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all company safety requirements.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as required.
- Support production teams to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Inspect machinery and equipment for proper operation and identify potential failures.
Assets (Nonessential):
- Experience working with industrial packaging equipment, conveyors, or steel processing equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, Stick welding considered an asset).
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead cranes (or willingness to be trained).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in an industrial environment.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying plant conditions.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and maintenance software is an asset.

- Industrial millwright license (but flexible to individuals who are non-licensed but have relevant industry experience as a maintenance packaging mechanic)
- Strong people-person and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Previous industry manufacturing experience
- Able to read and interpret machinery drawings and schematics

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
