Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Small Engine Repair Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with small engine repair and a strong ability to convey technical knowledge effectively. This role involves delivering engaging classroom instruction, guiding students through practical repairs, and fostering a positive learning environment. The instructor will play a vital role in preparing students for careers in small engine maintenance and repair, ensuring they gain both theoretical understanding and practical skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans on small engine repair techniques and maintenance procedures
- Conduct classroom lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions for students of varying skill levels
- Assess student progress through evaluations, assignments, and practical assessments
- Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, adhering to safety protocols during all instructional activities
- Provide individualized support and mentorship to students to enhance their understanding and skills
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices related to small engine repair
Skills
- Proven experience in small engine repair or related technical field
- Prior classroom or teaching experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to engage students and foster an interactive learning environment
- Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching technical skills
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to small engine repair operations
- Certification or formal training in small engine repair is a plus but not required
The contract includes teaching for 1.5 - 2 hrs on site bi-weekly. Tools and project engines will be supplied for the instructor.
Pay: $50.00 per hour
