Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cake Decorator/Pastry Chef to join our bakery team. This role involves creating beautifully decorated cakes and pastries, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking, cake decorating, and food handling within a fast-paced food industry environment. This position offers an opportunity to showcase creativity while maintaining strict food safety standards and delivering delightful culinary experiences to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts according to customer specifications and bakery standards
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, cookies, and other confections
- Ensure all food preparation meets food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle food packaging efficiently for take-out or delivery orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work stations
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and presentation of baked goods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts within a restaurant or bakery setting
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Experience with kitchen equipment used in baking and decorating processes
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Creativity in cake design and pastry presentation
- Prior experience in the food industry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
- Strong piping, fondant, and decorating skills
- Creativity and passion for recipe development
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation; personal vehicle preferred
- Availability for early morning hours
- Must be available for at least one weekend day
