Overview
Join our dynamic logistics team as a Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring seamless coordination of freight and transportation operations. Duties
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule, track, and coordinate freight shipments efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette.
- Enter data accurately into systems such as AS400 and SyteLine to maintain real-time shipment records and shipping & receiving logs.
- Monitor shipping schedules, update status reports, and analyze freight data to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to facilitate smooth freight movement across the supply chain network.
- Conduct analysis of transportation data to optimize routes, reduce delays, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), AS400, or SyteLine is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including shipping & receiving procedures and freight management.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently.
- Demonstrated data entry accuracy combined with analysis skills to interpret logistics data effectively.
- Familiarity with freight operations within a 3PL environment is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving roles or dispatching positions will be advantageous.
