Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trucking Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating freight logistics and managing a fleet of diverse trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and more. This role involves ensuring timely, efficient, and safe deliveries by effectively dispatching drivers, planning optimal routes, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch truck drivers for pickup and delivery of freight across various regions.
- Plan and monitor delivery schedules, routes, and driver assignments to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Communicate regularly with drivers to provide updates, address issues on the road, and ensure adherence to delivery plans.
- Track and maintain accurate records of driver logs, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery incidents.
- Ensure drivers are in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Assist in resolving delivery delays, breakdowns, or other transport-related problems in real time.
- Monitor truck maintenance schedules and ensure equipment readiness.
- Support drivers with instructions for handling various freight types, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump, and roll-off loads.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other dispatch software for load assignments and route planning.
- Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and operations teams to ensure a seamless delivery process.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dispatcher in the trucking or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
- Familiarity with various truck types (e.g., reefers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-offs, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills to interact with drivers, customers, and team members effectively.
- Proficiency in using dispatching systems, GPS tracking, and routing software.
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience as a truck driver or knowledge of manual transmission operation is a plus.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
