We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labourer - Machine Shop (Shipping & Receiving) to support operations within a busy machine shop environment. This role involves shipping and receiving duties, material handling, and supporting daily production flow between the yard, warehouse, and machine shop.
Location: South (must have a vehicle)
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay: $20-24/hour based on experience
Job Type: Summer coverage with possibility for long-term for the right employee
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading, and unloading materials and finished products
- Operate a propane forklift safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the yard, warehouse, and machine shop
- Wrap and secure pallets using shrink wrap and other packaging materials
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality
- Move materials between outdoor yard areas and indoor production/warehouse spaces
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with general labour tasks as required to support production and logistics
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a general labour, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Comfortable operating a propane forklift (certification an asset or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working in environments with chemical odours/smells commonly found in machine shop settings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
