Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience working with Fanuc controls. This role involves setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, blueprint reading, and lean manufacturing principles will excel in this position. The successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring precision machining and efficient production processes.
Duties
- Set up CNC machines including lathes and milling machines using blueprints and technical drawings
- Program CNC equipment utilizing CNC programming skills and Fanuc control systems
- Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently to produce parts within specified tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify part dimensions
- Adjust machine parameters for optimal performance and quality control
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing practices
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools as needed for setup or finishing tasks
- Assist with assembly or other related tasks when required
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and CNC programming languages (G-code)
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes, blueprint reading, SolidWorks, CAD software, and basic math skills for precise measurements
- Hands-on experience with calipers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other manufacturing tools
- Prior work in a manufacturing environment emphasizing lean manufacturing principles is preferred
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and translate them into machine commands
- Experience working with machining materials and understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting
