Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting overall patient comfort. Duties
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist in patient examinations and recordkeeping using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Provide support during various dental procedures, including orthodontics and pediatrics treatments
- Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns or questions during visits
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure the cleanliness of operatories and equipment
- Manage appointment scheduling, recall systems, and patient follow-up communications
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to patient care
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix or comparable dental office management software
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Experience in dental assisting is desirable but not required; training will be provided if necessary
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate approach to patient care with strong attention to detail
