Company Description
Birch Fumigators is one of Edmonton's oldest and most reliable pest control and extermination companies. We have been evicting unwanted pests from commercial and residential properties since 1900, including ant hills, bedbug infestations, cockroaches and more.
Role Description
The successful candidate will spend their summer applying exterior treatments for landscape pests, ants, wasps, etc. They will have a authorized assistant assigned to them.
The team will be responsible for driving to different locations within Edmonton to meet clients, conduct on-site inspections, and provide pest control services. Employees can expect continuous hands on training. This position is full time at 40 hours per week with overtime and commissions.
Hours are flexible but work is weather dependent and some site require off hours (overnight) treatments.
Daily Job Duties
- Completing pest control inspections and determine the best course of action to eliminate pests
- Complete safety documentation and application notes (on app)
- Safety handle and store pesticides as per label
- Accurately mix and apply pesticides as needed as per label
- Maintain flexibility to assist customers in a fast past environment
Physical Demands
- Must be able to physically perform essential duties of the position which includes lifting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be physically in good shape
- Must be comfortable at heights
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a valid driver's license (least 3 years of insured driving experience)
- Hold a valid Alberta Pesticide Applicators License (Structural or Landscape Class)
- Must be able to navigate smart phones and field service management software
- Previous experience in the pest control industry is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills

Birch Fumigators will provide paid training to the successful candidate.
After the season is complete, the opportunity for a full time permanent position will be evaluated.
