Help bring hearing healthcare directly to the people who need it most.
We're looking for an outgoing, compassionate, and organized person to join our mobile hearing healthcare team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly in the community, bringing hearing care to people who may not otherwise have access to it.
You'll travel to shelters, recovery houses, supportive housing, community organizations, and other outreach locations, helping coordinate hearing clinics and supporting clients throughout their hearing healthcare journey.

What You'll Do
- Travel to shelters, recovery homes, supportive housing, community organizations, and other outreach locations throughout North Nanaimo and surrounding communities.
- Coordinate mobile hearing clinics with community partners and local agencies.
- Welcome clients and complete intake paperwork before appointments.
- Assist our Hearing Instrument Practitioner during hearing assessments.
- Help prepare clients for testing and support them throughout their appointment.
- Assist with hearing aid fittings, education, and follow-up appointments when appropriate.
- Manage hearing aid inventory, clinic supplies, and equipment.
- Schedule appointments, maintain accurate client records, and complete administrative documentation.
- Build lasting relationships with community organizations to improve access to hearing healthcare.

- Has a valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
Experience in healthcare, community outreach, addictions, mental health, social services, administration, or customer service is an asset, but not required. We are happy to train someone with the right attitude and a genuine passion for helping others.

Position Details
- Part-time position: 2–3 days per week

Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to community spaces such as shelters, resource centers, and local events to connect with individuals in need of support.
- Partner with local health professionals, non-profits, and social agencies to coordinate outreach visits and ensure follow-up care.
- Offer education on assistive listening devices.
- Handle basic administrative duties, such as maintaining client records, scheduling visits, and tracking outreach activities.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work respectfully across diverse backgrounds.
- Organized and dependable, able to manage a varied weekly travel schedule.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle. All travel and travel time are covered by hourly wage, plus kilometer reimbursement.
