We are seeking a skilled and dependable Trailer Mechanic to join our team. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trailer systems including brakes, axles, electrical wiring, suspension, and structural components
- Perform routine maintenance such as inspections, lubrication, and part replacements to prevent breakdowns
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Operate forklifts, needed for repairs or parts movement
- Conduct welding and fabrication work to repair or modify trailer components
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for assembly and disassembly tasks
- Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations
- Assist in the assembly of new trailers or equipment when required
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs and timelines effectively
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair or industrial equipment maintenance
- Dealership experience is preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience working with both trucks and trailers
- Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, schematics interpretation, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to perform repairs safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and industrial machinery maintenance
- Prior experience working with power tools and hand tools in a fast-paced environment
