Key Responsibilities:
SGCC is currently looking for a Line Cook to undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Responsible for prepping and cooking for banquet & catering, as well as proper cleaning and organization of work areas.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and making sauces, for daily service.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to cook and plate menu items with attention to quality and timing.
- Prepare and cook a variety of complete meals and specialty dishes for special events.
- Maintain workstation cleanliness and follow sanitation, food safety protocols and be compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Follow instructions from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, ensuring high standards in food preparation and presentation.
- Set up and monitor buffets and special event displays as needed.
- Adjust meal preparations to meet specific dietary requirements as directed by the Executive or Sous Chef.
- Regularly inspect preparation and cooking equipment, ensuring it is clean, sanitary, and in optimal working order
- Any other duty as assigned by the Executive Chef
Availability: The kitchen is open from 7am to 12am (may end between 11 pm-12 am), 7 days per week.
Work Conditions:
- Stand for extended periods and transport up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.
- Will be constantly exposed to high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
- Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
- Extended hours as required.
Qualifications:
- Cooking: 3-5 years of experience (preferred)
- Culinary degree or working on a culinary degree (preferred)
- License/Certification: Food Safe, Food Handler (having it or working towards it is required)
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Strong customer service, organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Must be available to working any shift, evenings, weekends, holidays
- Must have a reliable vehicle/transportation
