Northern Industrial Construction Ltd. (NIC) is a growing general contractor specializing in industrial, commercial, institutional, housing, and infrastructure projects throughout Northern and remote regions of Canada.
We deliver projects through traditional tendering, negotiated work, design-build, and sole-source delivery models. As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a highly organized and proactive Proposal & Pursuits Coordinator to support proposal development, funding applications, marketing initiatives, and strategic business development efforts.
Position Overview
The Proposal & Pursuits Coordinator will play a key role in supporting NIC's growth by coordinating proposal submissions, developing marketing materials, maintaining corporate content libraries, and assisting clients with identifying and pursuing funding opportunities.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys writing, research, project coordination, graphic presentation, and helping turn opportunities into successful projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with NIC's Estimating Lead, estimators, operations personnel, and executive team to support pursuits from opportunity identification through proposal submission and project award.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development & Coordination
- Coordinate and manage proposal and RFP submissions
- Develop and format proposal documents, executive summaries, and technical narratives
- Coordinate inputs from estimators, project managers, and subject matter experts
- Prepare compliance matrices and submission checklists
- Assemble and submit proposal packages
- Maintain proposal schedules and internal deadlines
- Manage proposal templates and continuous improvement initiatives
Funding & Pursuit Development
- Research available federal, provincial, territorial, Indigenous, and municipal funding programs
- Identify funding opportunities relevant to client projects
- Assist with preparation of funding applications and supporting documentation
- Develop project descriptions, narratives, schedules, and preliminary budgets for funding submissions
- Maintain a database of funding opportunities and application deadlines
- Support strategic pursuit planning and opportunity development initiatives
Marketing & Content Management
- Develop capability statements, housing catalogues, service brochures, and other marketing materials
- Coordinate project photography and visual content libraries
- Support development and maintenance of proposal graphics and presentation materials
- Ensure consistency of branding and document quality across all submissions
Qualifications
Required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and project coordination abilities
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and document quality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred
- Experience with proposal coordination, proposal writing, grant writing, funding applications, marketing, communications, business development, or construction administration
- Experience in construction, engineering, consulting, infrastructure, economic development, Indigenous organizations, government, or related industries
- Experience with Adobe, Canva, or other document design software
- Experience researching and coordinating government funding programs
- Understanding of procurement processes, RFPs, RFQs, and tenders

Within your first year, you will:
- Take ownership of proposal coordination and production activities
- Maintain and improve NIC's proposal templates and content libraries
- Develop high-quality marketing and capability materials
- Support successful funding applications for clients and strategic projects
- Reduce administrative burden on estimators and technical staff
- Help create and pursue new negotiated project opportunities

- Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
