Position Summary
The Town of Milton’s Operations division is currently accepting applications for the contract position of Summer Student – Operations (Parks). Successful candidates must be able to work from May 1, 2026 – August 28, 2026. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks, this position is responsible for park maintenance duties.

Performs park maintenance duties including turf maintenance, horticulture planting and maintenance, garbage collection and other park beatification

Follows a schedule to provide routine service to parks and open spaces

Operates riding mowers and landscaping related equipment in accordance with industry standards

Represents the Town of Milton in a professional manner and works as part of a team

Complies with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Department objectives

Enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary school

Documentation/proof of registration as a current full-time student must accompany the application; please attach the proof to your resume document

Previous experience with park and road maintenance duties, such as turf maintenance, horticulture, and roadway flagging is considered an asset

Minimum G2 license is required

Current Standard First Aid Certificate/CPR and WHMIS is considered an asset
