POSITION SUMMARY
The crane operatorwill work with various cranes, boom trucks and other equipment based on experience and training for the appropriate project site. The candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of operating various equipment and support in various tasks when not operating equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate collaboration, attention to detail and ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.

Safety & Compliance

- Take part in Forbes Bros. safety reporting procedures around good catch near miss and take 2 entries
- Performing pre-operational inspection and calculates crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
- Operate the crane in a safe and appropriate manner
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure lifts are engineered lift plans standards and requirements
- Lifting tower components as per instruction
- Ensure rigging is maintained and certified
- Complete lift calculations in an accurate and timely manner
- Haul and move materials on site as required
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Document regular maintenance checks to maintain adequate records of equipment performance
- Report any damages or repair needs to the appropriate parties
- Abide by all local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures
- Effectively communicate with ground crews using hand signals and voice communication
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned Review, understand and follow site access plans.
- Understand and follow environmental awareness as per client requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Minimum two (2) years' experience operating the respective site of crane required, preference given to those with industry and transmission lattice experience
- Valid NCCCO Crane Operator Certification or equivalent certification, is required
- Rough Terrain crane up to 100 ton and Crawler experience, is required
- Class A CDL with no restrictions, is required
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member in a dynamic work environment while equally motivated working independently
Additional Details
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Work on transmission line projects throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta, with an initial assignment in Regina, SK followed by Edmonton, AB
- Work a project-based rotation schedule, initially anticipated to be 21 days on / 7 days off
- Eligible for $200/day LOA where applicable while working away from home.
- Be willing to travel and relocate to project sites as required
Pay: $59.00 per hour
