Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment. This role involves assisting with dental procedures, managing patient interactions, and ensuring compliance with safety and health standards. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a sterile environment
- Assist the dentist during various procedures including orthodontics and pediatrics treatments
- Taking digital dental radiographs
- Manage patient records using Maxident
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and medical histories using medical terminology
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and answer their questions professionally
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting, with knowledge of dental procedures and patient care practices
- Familiarity with dental software
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology is preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent patient service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience working as a dental receptionist or in related administrative roles is a plus
- Willingness to learn new technologies such as CAD systems for dental imaging
