Position Overview:
Bau Projects Inc. is seeking a full-time, permanent Site Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities across projects in Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Projects range from small-scale builds to $10M+ developments.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their site and takes pride in delivering well-run, high-quality projects.
You will act as the primary on-site leader, responsible for day-to-day execution, site performance, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, accountable leader looking for opportunity to grow into estimating, project management, or broader leadership roles within a growing company.
Candidates with both project management and site experience may be considered for a hybrid Superintendent / Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Leadership & Execution: Act as the primary on-site leader responsible for scheduling, workforce planning, subcontractor coordination, and material procurement
- Team Leadership: Lead site teams, chair meetings, and drive accountability and productivity across all trades
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets project specifications and company quality standards
- Safety Management: Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Subcontractor & Stakeholder Coordination: Manage trade sequencing, resolve conflicts, and ensure timely delivery of work and materials
- Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with project stakeholders
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate site records including reports, schedules, photos, and as-builts
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges
- Drawings & Submittals: Review shop drawings and submittals for alignment with site conditions and contract documents
- Contract Administration Support: Assist with purchase orders, subcontracts, and site-related administrative requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial construction in a site supervisory role
- Proven ability to manage projects from start to completion in the field
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- Experience with civil work, foundations, wood/steel framing, interiors, and pre-cast systems is an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Experience with construction software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with the Last Planner System is an asset
- Construction-related education is an asset
Compensation:
- $80,000 – $115,000 annually (based on experience)
