Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Painter/Labourer to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves performing residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, as well as assisting with various construction-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in construction or restoration is preferred, along with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. This position offers opportunities for skill development in blueprint reading, schematics, rigging, and carpentry.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate project execution
- Assist with rigging and setup of scaffolding or lifts for elevated work areas
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks including carpentry and repairs
- Perform restoration work on damaged surfaces or structures to meet project specifications
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met on time
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during work activities
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting, restoration, or industrial painting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience with rigging, carpentry, caulking, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Strong time management skills to complete projects efficiently within deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Customer service experience is a plus for interacting professionally with clients during projects
