About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to join our growing team. This full‑time position can be hybrid or on‑site, depending on the candidate’s preference. The ideal lawyer brings strong family law experience, excellent judgment, and a client‑centered approach.
In this role, you will manage a full caseload and represent clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, property division, and adoption. You will provide strategic advice, draft legal documents, and appear in mediations, negotiations, and court proceedings as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations and maintain ongoing communication
- Represent clients in mediations, negotiations, court appearances, and administrative hearings
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, agreements, motions, and briefs
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on family law matters
- Manage files from initial retainer through to resolution
- Attend court and settlement conferences
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Participate in business development and networking initiatives
- Contribute to a collaborative, collegial team environment
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of Family Law practice (5+ years preferred)
- Strong litigation experience: motions, trials, depositions, and court representation
- LL. B or JD from an accredited law school
- Valid license to practice in British Columbia and a member in good standing with the Law Society of BC
- Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting skills
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload
- Professional, positive attitude and commitment to high‑quality work

- Ability to provide three professional references
