This is a multifaceted role suited for an experienced individual who is comfortable transporting company equipment, operating machinery on construction sites, and assisting with a variety of construction-related duties when not actively hauling or operating equipment. The successful candidate will also assist with snow removal operations during the winter months. Previous experience operating heavy equipment on a construction site and floating company equipment is required.
Responsibilities
- Transport (float) equipment to and from various job sites using company vehicles and trailers.
- Safely operate equipment on construction sites as needed.
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment between job sites.
- Assist with general construction site duties when not hauling or operating equipment.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment using proper procedures and safe work practices.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in snow removal operations during the winter season.
- Consistently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Miscellaneous duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Valid Ontario Class AR (Restricted Class A) licence.
- Previous experience operating construction and heavy equipment is required.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and regulations.
- Experience operating excavators, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to safely load, unload, transport, and operate equipment on job sites.
- Strong knowledge of load securement practices and transportation regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety oriented.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and perform manual labour.
- Able to work in various weather conditions.
- Experience with snow removal operations is considered an asset.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
