Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and experience with dental office software Abeldent. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate record keeping, and excellent customer service.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Abeldent dental practice management software
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls appropriately, and handle appointment requests
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing using electronic medical records systems .
- Collect payments, co-pays, and outstanding balances accurately at the front desk
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies
- Prepare patient charts and update medical histories with relevant information
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry to support daily operations
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely appointment scheduling
Requirements
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with dental practice management abeldent soft ware.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Office experience in a fast-paced environment demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and HIPAA compliance standards
- Prior experience working at the front desk of a dental or medical office is desirable
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and customer service orientation
Pay: $25.00-$33.00 per hour
