Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented carpenter to join our growing team at Storey Custom Carpentry Inc. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, framing, concrete finishing, and the use of various hand and power tools. Duties
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute construction tasks accurately
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes
- Construct building structures and frameworks, including walls, floors, windows, doors, stairs etc.
- Drywall installation and finishing
- Painting
- Install, and replace tile with precision
- Install wood, vinyl and other resilient flooring
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and related restoration work
- Install siding, framing, and other structural components
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and commercial locations
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate project progress
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite to ensure safety standards are met
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry-related roles with a focus on finish work, framing, drywall, tiling/flooring, and concrete finishing
- A valid G driver's license is required
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for various construction tasks
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
- Highly safety-oriented, must comply with health & safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Physical stamina to handle demanding physical tasks over extended periods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
