Senior CNC Machinist – 3 Axis and 5 Axis Milling-Lead Hand
Our client is a well-established precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist-Lead Hand to join their growing team.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys, solving machining challenges, and producing high-quality precision components and leading a team. While this position provides technical guidance to other machinists and operators, the primary focus is hands-on CNC machining, machine setup, and producing quality parts.

What You'll Do
- Set up, operate and troubleshoot 3-axis CNC milling machines.
- Produce precision components while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and GD&T.
- Select tooling, determine machining methods and optimize machine performance.
- Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers and gauges.
- Ensure finished parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Make program offsets and minor program edits as required.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Support and mentor less experienced machinists by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience setting up and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines (mills preferred).
- Experience with CNC lathes is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling and cutting parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
- CAD/CAM experience is considered an asset.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
