Role Summary
You will create joyful, engaging, and safe learning experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Level 2/3 applicants may take on lead educator responsibilities, coaching peers and helping with room planning and documentation.
What You Will Do
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families, greet every child by name and share daily updates
- Plan and extend play based, developmentally appropriate experiences that follow children’s interests
- Keep children safe, maintain supervision at all times, complete head counts and risk assessments, and follow health and hygiene routines
- Observe learning, document with photos and notes, and share documentation with families and the team
- Set up calm, organized environments, rotate materials, and keep rooms tidy and inviting
- Collaborate with teammates on schedules, ratios, and room coverage, communicate clearly and professionally
- Follow all centre policies and Alberta child care licensing requirements
- For Level 3, model best practice, mentor peers, support program planning, and contribute to onboarding of new staff
Qualifications
- Alberta ECE Certification, Level 2 or Level 3, current and in good standing
- Current Standard Child Care First Aid with CPR Level B or C, or willing to obtain before start date
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Intervention Record Check, completed within the last 6 months or in progress
- Experience in a licensed child care program, practicum or paid, strong asset
- Knowledge of Alberta’s FLIGHT framework, Montessori and Emergent or willingness to learn
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills, dependable and punctual
- Able to lift, bend, and be active on the floor, indoors and outdoors, in all seasons
Schedule
- Full time
- Shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
