Position Overview
We are currently hiring an experienced Asphalt Finish Raker to join our crew. This role is critical in ensuring smooth, properly graded asphalt surfaces and high-quality finishes on all projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Rake and level hot asphalt behind the paver to achieve proper grade and finish
- Assist with asphalt placement, spreading, and shaping
- Work closely with the paving crew (operator, screed, rollers) to maintain production flow
- Ensure proper thickness, joints, and transitions are achieved
- Perform lute work, edge work, and clean-up as required
- Follow all safety procedures and site protocols
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years experience as an asphalt finish raker
- Strong understanding of asphalt grades, slopes, and finishing techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to work long hours and weekends when required
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
