Funeral Director – Class 1 or Class 2

Steeles Memorial Chapel is currently seeking a full-time compassionate, professional, and dedicated Class 1 or Class 2 Licensed Funeral Director to join our team at our funeral home.
We are looking for someone who not only has the professional qualifications for the role, but also possesses strong personal values and emotional maturity. Honesty, integrity, compassion, reliability, and a solid personality core are extremely important qualities to us. The ideal candidate should be calm, strong, well-grounded, and capable of professionally handling sensitive family dynamics, emotional situations, disagreements, and conflicts that may occasionally arise during funeral arrangements and services.

Position Details
Full-Time Position
· Starting Salary: $65,000 per year

· Shift lengths may vary depending on funeral schedules and family needs
Responsibilities
· Meeting with families to make funeral arrangements
· Coordinating and overseeing funeral services
· Administrative and documentation duties
· Communicating professionally with cemeteries, clergy, hospitals, and families
· Coordinating funeral logistics with cemetery offices and religious organizations
· Providing compassionate, respectful, and organized care throughout the funeral process
· Maintaining professionalism and composure during emotionally difficult or high-pressure situations
Qualifications
· Ontario Funeral Director Class 1 or Class 2 License
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Professional appearance and demeanor
· Ability to work compassionately in a fast-paced environment
· Strong emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution abilities
· A valid driver’s license is required
· Ability to work professionally both independently and as part of a team
