Our client is a leading Canadian public company; They are seeking a senior accounting professional to manage full-cycle corporate accounting, complex reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Own the full-cycle accounting process, including preparing and posting complex journal entries and maintaining month-end working papers.
- Financial Statement Review: Lead the preparation and detailed review of corporate financial statements and departmental reporting packages.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive variance analysis and write clear, insightful commentary for executive and senior management reporting.
- Complex Reconciliations: Perform intricate, high-volume reconciliations for corporate salaries, benefits, compensation plans, and specialized project costs.
- Audit Preparation: Compile, analyze, and review consolidated working papers for quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5–10 years of progressive, full-cycle corporate accounting experience, preferably within a large public company environment.
- Technical Accounting: Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards, public company reporting requirements, and advanced journal entry preparation.
- Advanced Excel: Mastery of advanced Excel functions to efficiently manipulate and analyze large volumes of complex financial data.
- Systems & Education: University degree in Accounting or Finance with a CPA designation, alongside experience using enterprise ERP systems
