Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor who has experience in a welding environment. Individual will be required to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will lead a team to ensure production goals are met efficiently, safely, and with high quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop fabrication involving cutting, bending, welding.
- Monitor manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements for efficiency and quality
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times and promote a safety-first culture among team members
- Operate or assist with the operation of forklifts, power tools, and hand tools as needed
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
- Train new employees on assembly procedures, equipment operation, and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate production records and report on key performance indicators
- Collaborate with maintenance teams for mechanical repairs or equipment upgrades
- Manage inventory levels within the warehouse, including raw materials and finished goods
Skills
- Proven experience in manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse environments with supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Certification as a welding supervisor as per CSA Standard W47.1 is an asset but not required.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot mechanical or process issues quickly
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial settings
- Ability to read technical diagrams and operate machinery effectively
- Good communication skills for training staff and coordinating with other departments
- Prior experience with warehouse management systems is a plus
