We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at Kelowna Health and Memory Centre. KHMC is a leading centre of excellence in cognitive health and dermatology, empowering individuals and families in the Okanagan region to have access to diagnosis, treatment and clinical research in one location.
About the Role
The Research Assistant supports the conduct of clinical research studies focused on Alzheimer’s disease, memory disorders, and general medicine. This role works closely with investigators, sponsors, and site staff to support high-quality, patient-centred research and clinical trial activities. The position is well suited to someone detail-oriented, compassionate, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Study Conduct
-Coordinate and manage clinical trials from start-up through close-out
-Screen, recruit, consent, and schedule study participants
-Conduct study visits and assessments per protocol
-Ensure accurate and timely source documentation and data entry (eSource / EDC)
-Prepare for and support monitoring visits, audits, and inspections
-Collect, process and ship biological samples
-Collect vital signs and ECG tracings
Regulatory & Compliance
-Maintain regulatory binders and essential documents
-Ensure compliance with GCP, Health Canada, REB/IRB, and sponsor requirements
-Assist with ethics submissions, amendments, and renewals
-Track protocol deviations, adverse events, and serious adverse events
Participant Support
-Serve as a primary point of contact for study participants and caregivers
-Provide education about study procedures and expectations
-Coordinate diagnostic testing, labs, imaging, and specialty assessments
-Support participants throughout the study to ensure a positive experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science degree
- Previous experience in a research assistant role is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM with an online test

Hours: 40 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm.
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
