Buffalo Trail Public Schools is excited to offer a full-time Elementary Generalist teaching opportunity at Provost Public School beginning August 26, 2026 through June 29, 2027. We are seeking a passionate and student-centred educator who is eager to make a meaningful difference in a welcoming and supportive rural school community. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with staff to support student success while becoming part of a caring and connected school division.

Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

The ability to create engaging, inclusive, and responsive learning environments that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of elementary students

Knowledge of effective literacy and numeracy instructional practices and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students

Experience using assessment to inform instruction, monitor student progress, and support individual learning needs through collaboration with families and school-based teams

A commitment to fostering positive relationships and creating a classroom culture where all students feel valued, supported, and challenged to achieve success
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment

Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices

Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning

The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team

A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
