PSCO Construction is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our heavy civil construction team. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in site servicing, excavation, watermain installation, sewer installation, grading, and heavy civil works.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently with pipe layers, labourers, foremen, and other equipment operators on active construction sites.
Responsibilities:
Operate excavators safely and efficiently for site servicing and heavy civil construction work
Perform excavation for watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, manholes, catch basins, and related underground services
Work around existing utilities, trenches, shoring, and other site restrictions
Assist with trenching, backfilling, grading, loading trucks, and material handling
Read and follow site plans, grades, stakes, and direction from the foreman
Work closely with pipe crews and other heavy equipment on site
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
Follow all company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements:
Minimum 5–10 years of excavator operating experience preferred
Experience in watermain, sewer, and site servicing work is required
Strong understanding of trench excavation and underground utility installation
Ability to work safely around workers, utilities, and other equipment
Ability to read drawings, grades, and site layout is an asset
Reliable transportation to job sites across the GTA
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Must be punctual, dependable, and safety-oriented
Schedule:
Full-time
Monday to Friday
Occasional weekends or overtime may be required depending on project needs
Work Location:
On the road / various project sites across the Greater Toronto Area
