Precision Sheet Metal Shop in Richmond is looking for a LASER OPERATOR to operate the Mitsubishi ML3015 laser machine .
Hours are from 4:00pm to 2:30am Monday to Thursday OR 2:30AM TO 11AM - MUST DRIVE- NO TRANSIT AVAILABLE. Please include which shift you are applying for.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
- Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
- Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation.
- Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities.
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Follow all company rules and policies.
- Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years of experience on Mitsubishi / similar Laser cutting machines .
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Background working in Sheet metal.
- Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
- Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass. - Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as some weekend work.
- Strong team player.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS (PREFERRED)
- Knowledge of lifting techniques
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to lift heavy items 40 lbs
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- TruTops or Metamation programming experience
