Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.
We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Conduct parking enforcement at across all city governed locations, in accordance with city by-laws and procedures.
- Must issue all violators citations without exceptions
- Prepare and serve notices under the provisions of the Provincial Offences Act, as may be appropriate.
- Complete necessary reports and makes necessary arrangements for towing of unlawfully parked vehicles
- Collect necessary evidence relating to violation.
- Operate company patrol vehicle in accordance with Company and City policies and HTA regulations.
- Undertake all training assigned to you in a timely fashion.
- Complete reports utilizing reporting software, and paper reports as required.
- Must attend court when called upon by the City
- At all times while on duty carry themselves in a professional well-groomed manner.
- Must answer questions from the public in response to parking violations and municipal legislation.
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Other duties as required by Manager/Supervisor
WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:
- *MUST* Ontario Security Guard License
- *MUST* Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
- *MUST* have a Full G license or higher and clean drivers abstract
- *MUST* be at least 25 years old or above for insurance purposes
- *MUST* be able to pass the Town of Milton By-law training class
- *MUST* Have the ability to obtain Reliability security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
- *MUST* have experience in parking enforcement
- Minimum one year demonstrated experience working in a customer service capacity
- Experience with parking enforcement software and technology is an asset
- Ability to successfully complete escalation and conflict resolution training
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Available to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Complete training and use of manual, automated plate recognition software.
