Millwright – Full Time
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Millwright to join our growing team. As a Millwright, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and equipment within our facility and at customer job sites.
We are searching for a talented and qualified individual with proven experience in industrial and construction equipment repairs. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
Job Overview
The Millwright will be responsible for dismantling, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery including conveyors, production equipment, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other industrial mechanical equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, dismantle, and align machinery and equipment according to blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and implement solutions promptly
- Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes
- Construct and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails
- Build foundations for machinery and equipment installations
- Transfer equipment to job sites for maintenance and repairs while maintaining safety standards
- Weld, fabricate, machine, and repair parts as required
- Work with hand tools, measuring tools, welding, brazing, and power tools
- Assist with electrical and control-related troubleshooting
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
- Determine proper machines, rigging methods, tools, and techniques required to complete jobs safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with maintenance team members and production staff to minimize downtime
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program with an Ontario Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification (433A or 426A) or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Millwright or in a similar industrial maintenance role
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and construction equipment
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Welding and fabrication experience considered an asset
- CWB SMAW (Stick) All Position (Vertical Up) is an asset
- Ability to work with both Metric and Imperial units of measurement
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting considered an asset
- Own personal hand tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to various job sites across Southwestern Ontario
