Looking for an experienced cook for a very busy Breakfast Restaurant in St.Vital. Line cooks are responsible for preparing food, both before and after cooking, in accordance with restaurant standards and recipe standards. The line cooks help each other to maintain the utmost hygienic standards throughout the foodservice. This may entail arranging, preparing, and breaking down food displays.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for the set-up, the maintenance and the cleaning of the counter and
refrigerators in the kitchen station.
- Know the detailed cooking procedures for the breakfast and the lunch plates
- Prepare plates according to the Cora standards.
- Responsible for the execution, quality and presentation of every plate.
- Know the procedures for set-up
- Use the lists of cleaning tasks
- Know the authorized replacements and substitutions in the Cora concept
- Know and apply good hygiene and food safety practices
- Know the procedures to date and identify the products
- Know the equipment and how to safely use them
- Responsible for the cleanliness of his tools and the service areas. He is responsible for all
the different knives and instruments which he uses.
- Upkeep the recipe manual.
- Ensure proper rotation of the food while following the FIFO method
- Understand and use the tools available for the position
- Finish the preparations daily and verify the inventory according to the preparation lists.
This is a Permanent position. Candidates must be able to work on all holidays and weekends.(typical start time 6am-9am, end time: 2pm-4:30pm)
Pay: $16.00-$17.25 per hour
