Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Person and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision dies and molds used in production processes. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD software, and experience with machining tools to ensure high-quality manufacturing outcomes. The Person and Die Maker will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to develop efficient tooling solutions that meet strict specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop dies, molds, and tooling using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Use of lathe, milling machine, and other machining equipment to produce precise components.
- Operate hand tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools to assemble and modify dies.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to guide manufacturing processes.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers to ensure dimensional accuracy of machined parts.
- Conduct machining operations with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency while adhering to manufacturing standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues during fabrication processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve die designs for better performance and durability.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work processes, modifications, and inspections for quality control purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks and AutoCAD for designing dies and molds.
- Operation of lathe, milling machine, or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to machining, assembly, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, and other precision measurement instruments.
- Knowledge of machining techniques including cutting, grinding, welding, and finishing processes.
- Excellent math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and material properties.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
