Position Overview: We are seeking a Junior Financial Planning Associate/Paraplanner with a Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) certification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work with our current and new clients in delivering exceptional financial planning services and contribute to the growth and success of our clients and the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
A) Prepare and maintain client records
- Appointment preparation – ensure clients’ financial planning, insurance and investment documents are up to date
- Follow up to obtain documents/information necessary to update client planning
- Update client’s records in CRM
B) Prepare recommendations
- Research and prepare insurance quotes and planning recommendations
- Prepare and update investment and retirement planning recommendations
- Review and update estate planning recommendations
C) Implement recommendations
- Prepare insurance and investment application forms
- Order underwriting requirements and follow-up
- Coordinate and expedite with carrier new business case coordinators and update advisor on pending cases
- Follow up with clients to ensure outstanding requirements are collected
- Prepare suitability/reason why letters in accordance with the agreed recommendations
- Ensure all compliance paperwork is in order
- Maintain up to date and accurate filing of documents and correspondence
D) Client servicing
- Deal effectively with queries from clients
- Timely follow up with clients and insurance companies to complete insurance and investment servicing requests
- Effectively handle servicing items requiring escalation and attention
E) Marketing assistance
- Maintain and update prospects and client contacts and records in CRM
- Manage opportunities and leads
- Update educational presentation materials
F) Standard Operating Procedures
- Build and maintain standard operating procedures
Requirements:
- Insurance (LLQP) licensing required or able to obtain before starting position
- 2-3 years financial planning experience or equivalent undergraduate education in finance/financial planning
- Knowledge of insurance and segregated funds products considered asset
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Cantonese and Mandarin speaking skills preferred
- Strong computer skills, ease and comfort in using Microsoft Excel formulas and functions, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Word
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and complete tasks without supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills
