We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Build & Production Technician to join our production team. From assembling booth structures and testing graphics to staging furniture, flooring, and audio/visual equipment, you'll help ensure every project leaves our shop ready to impress.
Most of your work happens in our shop, but every now and then you'll trade your workbench for an airport and travel across Canada—and occasionally to the USA—to help bring exhibits to life.
What You'll Be Doing
- Pre-stage exhibits to ensure every component fits, functions, and is show-ready before shipping.
- Assemble and disassemble modular exhibit systems, custom displays, and booth structures.
- Test and install graphics so they look spectacular—not upside down or backwards (yes, it happens!).
- Pull, organize, and prepare furniture, flooring, audio/visual equipment, and accessories for each project.
- Follow build drawings, floorplans, and staging instructions with accuracy.
- Maintain an organized inventory of exhibit components, tools, and hardware.
- Repair, clean, and refurbish exhibit properties between shows.
- Support the production team with general shop duties and exhibit preparation.
- Travel across Canada and the USA to support exhibit setup and dismantle when required.
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel across Canada and the USA as needed.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Basic computer skills (email, inventory systems, and work orders).
- Ability to read and follow build drawings and written instructions.
- Confident in the safe and efficient use of basic hand tools and comfortable operating power tools to assemble exhibit components accurately and independently.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills—you'll work closely with the Operations Manager and fellow builders.
- Experience in exhibit production is not necessary. Experience in carpentry, building, manufacturing, staging, or another hands-on field is considered an asset.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis, with heavier or awkward items moved using team lifts or appropriate equipment.
- Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is an asset.
- Organized, dependable, and someone who pays attention to the little things—because the little things become big things on show day.
- During busy production and trade show seasons, flexibility to work overtime and weekends is required to support project deadlines and event schedules.
- Able to stay calm, adaptable, and focused when deadlines get exciting.
