About the Role
We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our busy ophthalmology clinic in Surrey, BC. As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience from check-in to checkout.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced medical environment, takes pride in accuracy and organization, and values teamwork and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide professional front-desk support
- Schedule appointments and manage daily patient flow
- Maintain and update patient records using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical and personal details
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with office communications
- Coordinate effectively with clinical staff to support seamless patient care
- Perform general office duties, including filing, scanning, and maintaining an organized workspace
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related experience or equivalent education and training
- Experience in a medical or ophthalmic office preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Experience with EMR systems (Plexia experience an asset)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (ophthalmic terminology an asset)
- Professional, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced setting
