The Role
Facilities, Maintenance and Operations is seeking a Project Assistant for a summer student term from when the position is filled until Aug 31, 2026. Duties may include:
- Project Assistance
- Monitoring the daily progress of projects including tacking project costs
- Enter purchase requisitions for approval and track all project financials
- Organizing reports, invoices, contracts, and other financial files for easy access
- Recording project team meeting minutes and action items
- Communication with external and internal stakeholders
- Capital Planning & Asset Coordination
- Communication with Departments on capital asset requests and procedures
- Preparation of documents and reports for Capital and Space Management
- Entry of approved budgets into the Evergreen system
- Space Management
- Assist with functional space planning
- Review office allocation and space requests
- Coordinate approved furniture and equipment moves within departments as required including furniture assembly
- Other Duties
- Other administrative duties as requested by Capital and Space Management for the day-to-day operations of the Facilities – Maintenance and Operations department
- May cover duties of the Administrative Assistant for the Facilities – Maintenance and Operations department
This role is Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Hourly rate is $21.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a current NWP student with some related experience. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Provide clear written reports;
- Prioritize and organize work assignments for self;
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
- A high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and accountability.
A class 5 drivers license is required. Travel to Fairview and Beaverlodge will be required.
