The Opportunity
Our client is an established residential home builder with a strong reputation for delivering quality single-family and multi-family communities throughout the Calgary market.
Reporting directly to ownership, the Managing Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across the business, overseeing construction, sales, finance, marketing, and overall business performance. This is a hands-on executive leadership role with the opportunity to influence strategy, drive growth, and shape the future direction of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the business while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the company's strategic plan, operational performance, and long-term growth objectives.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams across construction, sales, finance, marketing, and administration.
- Maintain full accountability for business performance, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and P&L management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, lenders, and key external partners.
- Oversee the successful delivery of residential projects, ensuring quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, strengthen processes, and support sustainable growth.
- Partner closely with ownership on business planning, organizational development, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience within residential homebuilding, real estate development, construction, or a related industry.
- Proven experience leading residential construction operations, including single-family and/or multi-family projects.
- Demonstrated success managing business operations and financial performance, including P&L responsibility.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, construction, sales, and finance.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day leadership.
- Experience working with financial institutions, lenders, and external business partners.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Real Estate Development, or a related discipline preferred.
- An MBA or Master's degree is considered an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education and executive leadership experience will also be considered.
