Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receptionist/Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care and support to our optometrists. You will assist with various tasks that enhance the patient experience, ensuring that our office runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about eye care and have a keen interest in working in a medical office environment.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them throughout their visit.
- Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including taking medical histories and measuring visual acuity.
- Assist optometrists during examinations by preparing equipment and ensuring the examination room is organized.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) to maintain accurate patient information.
- Provide education to patients regarding eye health, eyewear options, and post-examination care.
- Handle front desk responsibilities, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient inquiries.
- Support retail sales by assisting patients in selecting eyewear and explaining product features.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office space, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Skills
- Strong background in patient care with an emphasis on customer service.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to optometry.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and team members.
- Experience in retail sales or optical settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of pediatrics can be beneficial for assisting younger patients.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 44 per week
