JK Construction and Renovation INC. is looking for a dedicated Lead Site Carpenter to join our team. We specialize in high-end renovation projects, transforming existing residential properties. We aren't looking for a "clipboard-only" supervisor—we need a craftsman who leads by example, manages the flow of the job site, and takes pride in delivering exceptional work from start to finish.

Competitive Pay: Starting at $30/hr, with an increase to $35/hr upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.

The Role: This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our renovation sites, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to our high company standards.
Core Responsibilities:
· Site Leadership: Manage daily site logistics, coordinate with project managers, and oversee subcontractors and fellow team members to ensure seamless workflow.
· Active Craftsmanship: Execute high-quality work across all phases of renovation, including demolition, framing, insulation, drywall, painting, flooring, trim/door installation, and cabinetry.
· Operational Support: Assist project managers with scheduling, material take-offs and ordering, site preparation, and coordinating deliveries.
· Site Stewardship: Uphold a professional, tidy, and hazard-free environment at all times.
· Team Development: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior carpenters and labourers to elevate the team’s overall skill level.
· Standard Adherence: Actively participate in quality control reviews and remain open to feedback to ensure every build meets our specific quality benchmarks.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Experience: Proven background in high-end residential renovations. You must understand the complexities of retrofitting (e.g., working with older framing and existing conditions).
· Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of all major trades, including electrical and plumbing integration, drywall, and finish carpentry.
· Blueprint Literacy: Ability to accurately read and interpret renovation drawings and site plans.
· Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills; you must be able to troubleshoot site-specific issues that arise during retrofits.
· Physical Demands: Physically fit and capable of handling demanding construction labour, including lifting 50+ lbs on a regular basis.
· Logistics: Valid driver’s license is required; experience towing and maneuvering trailers is a major asset. Must use own smartphone with service and data.
· Communication: Excellent verbal skills and a collaborative, "can-do" attitude.
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
