The Team
You'll be joining a collaborative team of legal and administrative professionals who work together to support a wide range of litigation and solicitor matters on behalf of the Province. Working alongside lawyers, paralegals, and leadership in both Vancouver and Victoria, you'll contribute to meaningful legal work in a fast-paced environment while being encouraged to share ideas, learn from others, and grow your skills. The Role
As a Legal Assistant, you'll provide legal and administrative support that helps the team deliver high-quality legal services on behalf of the Province. You'll manage a variety of responsibilities, including preparing legal documents, coordinating correspondence, maintaining legal files, and supporting court filing processes, while working collaboratively with colleagues and client ministries. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful public service in an inclusive and respectful workplace that values diverse perspectives, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation.
- Enrollment in, or successful completion of a Legal Office Administrative Assistant program from a recognized Canadian institution; OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite and Adobe.
- Experience with balancing deadlines and workload, independently and in a team.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience with Court Services Online (CSO) and BC Online.
- Experience working as a legal assistant in a Canadian jurisdiction.
- Experience working in a legal office setting in a Canadian jurisdiction.
- Experience working in a government office setting.
- Experience working with the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA).
