Are you a skilled mechanic with a passion for tackling the toughest challenges on wheels? Do you have a knack for diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and equipment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity waiting for you! A Journeyman Mechanic repairs, overhauls, maintains and services diesel-powered heavy trucks, trailers, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Making repairs to fleet vehicles, including (but not limited to) repairing diesel engines, alignments, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Diagnosing failures of vehicles and disassembling, repairing and reassembly parts as necessary
- Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
- Inspecting, repairing and maintaining refrigeration systems
- Filling out and submitting all required documents in an accurate and timely manner
- Help to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Red Seal Truck and Transport License required
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage procedures
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedure
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
