Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support for a lovely lady living with Alzheimer's disease. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes dignity, safety, and comfort. As a Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for this lady through attentive assistance, engaging companionship, and meticulous attention to their unique needs. Duties
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and independence.
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols.
- Prepare light meals, ensuring proper nutrition.
- Support cognitive engagement through conversation, activities, and memory exercises suited for individuals with dementia.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitor health status closely, recognizing changes or signs of distress, and communicate updates to family members.
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting as needed using proper techniques to ensure safety for both caregiver and client.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is an asset
- Knowledge of dementia care strategies and experience supporting patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles including medication administration and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks with energy and resilience.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings or evenings or weekends as required.
- Certification in First Aid or relevant healthcare training is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is appreciated.
- MUST be comfortable in a cigarette smoking environment. Smokers welcome.

Your shifts for the first 9 weeks will be in the daytime then thereafter would be probably from around 1-9 or 12-8 or something of the sort. I will be at home during the whole time probably while I work from home. This position is to assist my mother while I can concentrate on my work. The pay is 15.90$, minimum wage and you are contracting your services to us. No deductions will be taken from the pay amount. You are responsible for claiming your income come tax time and to pay in EI if you want to pay in EI. You will have to make your own arrangements based on your preferences. I submit the pay twice per month. Once on the 16th and the next on the first of the next month and the pay comes in shortly after for the previous period.
