About the Role: The Purchaser is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of raw materials and shop supplies required for manufacturing operations at Yarl Metal Inc. This role ensures accurate and timely issuance of Purchase Orders, maintains optimal inventory levels, manages supplier relationships, and supports quality control through Non-Conformance Reporting. The Purchaser works closely with the Production Planning team to align procurement activities with production schedules and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Procurement
- Quote Request: Initiate and manage the process of obtaining quotations for necessary materials from potential suppliers.
- Material Review: Thoroughly review material specifications and requirements to ensure alignment with project needs.
- Quote Verification: Analyze and verify the accuracy and competitiveness of received quotations.
- Purchase Order Generation: Generate Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner based on approved quotes.
- Purchase Order Follow-Up: Proactively follow up on issued POs with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any potential issues.
- Inventory Tracking: Maintain and update information to accurately reflect material procurement status and inventory levels.
- Supplier Non-Conformance: Create and verify Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any discrepancies or quality issues related to supplied materials.
Shop Supplies Procurement
- Price Sheet Maintenance: Regularly update the Shop Supplies Price Sheet to reflect current pricing and availability.
Inventory Control
- Inventory Log Sheet Review: Regularly check the inventory log sheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Minimum Stock Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels against established minimums to prevent stockouts.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Education

Working Conditions: Office/manufacturing environment, sitting for long periods of time while using computer equipment, standing as needed. Occasional lifting up to 20kg.
